Feeling Harassed?

If you need to speak with someone about sexual harassment or have questions about coming out of the closet, vist the WSU Counseling Center at 220 Wabasha Hall.

The GLBTA Partnership of Winona State University is an organization that promotes diversity and equality for all people, regardless of sexual orientation or identity. Partnership meets weekly. The group is open to all people, regardless of orientation or identity. Straight allies are welcome and encouraged to attend. Bring a friend!

Our Mission

To educate the WSU community and the community of Winona by acting as a source of information on political and social issues pertinent to sexual and gender diversity and to advocate and work for full rights of GLBT people at all levels of society.
To act as a support for WSU students, faculty, and employees of diverse sexual orientations or gender identifications.
To work for a greater understanding of each member’s cultural and political background, including issues of ethnic, social, racial, sexual, and ethical significance.
To provide a safe learning atmosphere for students. Because people of varying gender and sexual identifications have been persecuted and belittled, it is vital an environment is created in which they may feel safe and free of abuse. Because of this, the GLBTA Partnership shall advocate a chemical-free and harassment-free environment.

Upcoming Event: Gays on Strike!

On Human Right Day 2008 (December 10, 2008), the gay, lesbian, bisexual, trangendered and allied community is asked to participate in a peaceful demonstration of removing itself from the United States economy for a day. This will be a powerful reminder that the GLBT community contributes an average $700 billion to the US economy every year, and that we deserve all the same rights as any other citizen.
