Officers Present:
Travis Odegard – Website Aministrator
Dason Kurkiewicz – Co-President
Tony Varey – Co-President
Tisha Hooks – Advisor

Meeting Started at 5:01 pm

First on the agenda
Creating a new sign up list since we accidently scrapped the old one.

After the signup sheet went around the room we went through introductions.

Tisha announced the Grad school trip to Milwaukee will take place on our Veterans Day holiday (November 10th).  Winona State has that day off but Milwaukee doesn’t so you’ll be able to get a good idea of what grad school is really like.

Tony was nominated for homecoming king and Trisha was nominated for homecoming queen.

Ivars Peterson is coming to Winona State to give a bunch of presentations on Math stuff between October 15th and 17th.  The big talk is on October 15, so save the date.

On October 17 and 18 there is a math conference at Concordia Moorehead, Minnesota.  It’ll be an opportunity to get to know math students from other schools.

T-shirt designs are coming up.  Travis did the catwalk.  So basically bring t-shirt suggestions and ideas for next time.

Every Friday at 3pm in GI 327 we solve interesting and unique math problems.  This is an actual class that you can register for but we encourage you to come even if you don’t sign up.  It will prepare you for math competitions which if you’re looking into grad school are a great idea to do.  This “class” can really help you with the types of problems on the competition.

Dason put Aaron on the spot again.

Math tutoring is no longer in GI 326.  It is now located in the old dance hall in Phelps.

If anyone knows of some free couches let Dason, Tony, or Aaron know.  Even cheap couches would be appreciated.

Time to give the Math and Stat Club bulletin board a facelift, talk to Tony and Dason about ideas.

Activities for this month:

Ideas:
Kickball
Volleyball
Dodgeball
Bowling
Tubing

Jenna Ginsbach came late at 5:22 pm

We voted on tubing as the club activity.  Hopefully it’ll go down on September 14th around 10:30 am.  We’ll keep you posted on details and there should be a sign up sheet in the math/stat office at some point.

Emails will be sent out.

The next meeting will take place on October 1st  at 5 pm. It’s Wednesday like usual.
