Our dept has authorized paying for the van

UNL will pay for hotel rooms

Math/stat club could pay for dinner or something

Sign-up sheet will be up eventually

We will get back Monday between  10-11 pm (6-7 hour drive)

Deadline for sign-up will be around first week of November

Eric, Tisha, Malone, and possibly Joyati will be “chaperoning”

3rd week of October Majul will be here.  Assistant to Andrew Wiles.  Giving talks on 16 on codes, abstracts are linked on the math/stat dept page drum demonstration

Reminder Nov 28th-Dec 2nd  Proof playing… possible to go as a group.  Cause it’s gonna be awesome.  It will just blow your minds

Upcoming group competition for mathematics for MAA/NCS competition… get groups of 3 take a math exam working together

9-12 on Saturday on Campus Sat. Nov. 10th

Putnam- international competition 1st sat in Dec (Dec 1st) two parts- 3 hours, grueling but if you get 2 points out of the 20 it looks amazing on applications.  No sarcasm in that

Ongoing problem solving seminar every Wednesday at 4pm …. Hang out and solve really “interesting” problems  Today was algebra problems (seeing the tricks)  1 hour 4-5 come whenever

Oct. 19/20/21st MAA sectional meeting in Bemiji… Errthum and Wangberg will be leaving on Thursday fun experience.. not many student presenters, but you should still be able to understand parts of the presentations… great if you are interested in grad school.  Unfortunately… we need to know who is going BY tomorrow.  Leave Thursday afternoon come back late Sunday. Leonhardi should be able to find dorm rooms for students to stay in or possibly funds in the department.  This DOES NOT mean abstract will be cancelled… I know you were pretty excited.  Basically your chance to sign up has passed bc it had to be done during the meeting

Have extra or more frequent meetings.  Not just announcements and decision making meetings… more to discuss more activities… watch a movie, talk, hang out.  They once watched the Roast of Flava’ Flav’. This would be in addition to the monthly meetings.  Give more input to us… not just emails.  Probably going to do it anyways so you should just like it. 

Tutor books are missing.  If you have ANY information about this we need to know NOW!  Kim is threatening police action.  Locators may or may not be located in the book.  Clearly our department does not have much trust.  Let Kim know if you know ANYTHING. 

Time for next big meeting: Nov 7th 9pm 

We were trying to plan a time for an unofficial meeting and it was motioned that we just have it scheduled for every week but Jenna said people might just end up getting sick of her. 

Unofficial meeting will be October 17th at 9pm
