Officers Present: Tisha Hooks– Advisor Eric Errthum – Advisor Aaron Wangberg – Advisor 5:05 meeting started -Monday (Nov 10th) grad school trip to University of University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee Club voted to pay for meals on grad school trip -informational meeting about REU’s, grad schools, etc…more information to come -P3 is coming up on November 15 from 4-8pm in the Holzinger Lodge Dinner and entertainment will be provided -ROCK IN on November 21st (Friday) Time: 8pm-8am Food, games, and fun will be provided Club voted to use money to fund lock-in food Motion was brought up to fund food for this pi-mu-epsilon trip Topic dismissed for now and will be brought up later in the meting -If you are interested in taking part in either the MAANCS (November 15th) or Putnam contact Eric Errthum (December 6th) @ eerrthum@winona.edu -Upcoming Department talks Next Wednesday mted 420 presentations Wednesday, Nov 19th: grad school seminar with students from Iowa State through I-TV Very informational if you are interested in attending Grad School Monday, Nov 24th: Principal from Lake City middle school Dec 3rd: student research presentations T-Shirt designs: 2 ideas Travis’ idea- 0 votes Malone’s idea- majority of votes In Addition to t-shirts, black fleeces will be ordered Keep a lookout for an email sent out once sign-up sheet is in math office Errthum and Wangberg walked in 30 minutes late! Found out that although Errthum is an advisor for the club, he is not on the mailing list. (Sorry!) Topology class is being offered next semester If interested, talk to Joyati Topic brought up about funding conference food this weekend Voted on paying for 2 meals for 8 people ($160) Vote passed!!!! University of Nebraska conference for Women in Mathematics Must be female to attend December 13th is deadline for it Takes place sometime in January/February Next Meeting sometime in December |
