Math/Stats Club Meeting Minutes

Meeting Started at 6:03 pm

The Elks Lodge apparently won’t let the spaghetti dinner be there so we’ll have to find some other place for it.

Sledding will be on Saturday, February 24th from 3pm to 5pm.  Transportation will be arranged if needed.  If you need a ride email either Dason (Dkurkiew3438@winona.edu) or Amanda (AMLamers6787@winona.edu).

Malone is running the science fair and needs volunteers and judges to help out.  It will be on March 2nd which is the Friday before spring break from 8am-4pm.  You can just help out whenever you’re available.  The website for the event is www.winona.edu/sciencfair Malone will talk to professors if there is a conflict with your schedule.  Sign up sheets are available on the website.  If you have any questions you can email Malone at CMalone@winona.edu.  There are many subjects to be the judge of.  This is a great opportunity.

The bulletin board needs to be redone by the end of the month.  Supplies will be bought this weekend and we’ll have a new one soon.

A conflict with our meeting time was brought up and it was decided to meet at 9pm from now on since there seemed to be an overall consensus that this works better.

There was a discussion on t-shirt designs.  If you have any ideas keep it in mind for next semester.  If you don’t have any ideas START THINKING OF THEM.

The fact that there is dwindling participation in the club was brought up.  Ideas to help promote club activity were: volunteering, sidewalk chalk, emailing professors to remind students about the club, flyers all over campus at least 5-7 days before a meeting, Food.

We are still waiting on the reply from the Statistics Honor Society.

Financial Update:  The Senate account has a balance of $185.00 and the Petty Cash account has $277.16.

The next meeting is March 14th (Pi Day! 3.14.07) at 9pm
