- Name
- The name of this organization shall be: The W.S.U. Math/Stat Club.
- Purpose
- To provide its members with an organizational reference from which to direct their interests and activities.
- To provide its members with an intellectual and social atmosphere in which to discuss facts and developments in the field of Mathematics and Statistics.
- To promote an interest in Mathematics and Statistics and the opportunity to pursue these interests beyond class structure limitations.
- To keep members updated on the latest state or national mathematics and statistics information.
- Memberships
- Membership requirements will be non-discriminatory and all persons will be treated in a fair and equitable manner in accordance with Minnesota Statute 363.
- Any student or faculty member interested in the fields of Mathematics or Statistics shall be granted membership to the Math/Stat Club.
- The Math/Stat Club will by no means discriminate any race, gender, or ethnicity. Any actions of discrimination will be reported to the
- Math/Stat Club officers and advisor.
- Officers
- Leadership nomination requirements will be non-discriminatory and all persons will be treated in a fair and equitable manner in accordance with Minnesota Statute 363.
- The officers, listed in order of rank shall be:
- Two Co-Presidents, Vice-President, Secretary, Treasurer, and Web Administrator(s).
- These six officers shall compose the Executive Committee.
- All officers shall serve from the time of their installation to the next December of the next school year.
- Should a vacancy occur between elections, it shall be filled by a majority vote of the members at a meeting held within one month after the vacancy has occurred.
- Leadership nomination requirements will be non-discriminatory and all persons will be treated in a fair and equitable manner.
- Meetings
- The W.S.U. Math/Stat Club shall meet once every four weeks or at the discretion of the executive officers.
- Special meetings may be called by the Co-Presidents or by a petition signed by one-third of the members. All members shall receive notification at least 48 hours prior to them.
- Funding
- The Treasurer is responsible for handling the budget. The co-Presidents and the Advisor must agree and approve all expenditures.
- All funds will be held in an account in the WSU Business Office.
- In the event of the dissolution of the club, all funds will be returned to the Student Activities Fund Committee of Student Senate for re-appropriation.
- Nominations and Elections
- The nominations shall be made by any member of the W.S.U. Math/Stat Club.
- The nominee may decline position nomination.
- The Elections
- The election of an officer shall require a simple majority vote by all the members present.
- No member shall be elected to more than one executive position.
- No member may hold an office more than two consecutive terms in a single position.
- Amendments
- The constitution may be amended if all officers of the Math/Stat Club agree to the amendment and with a two-thirds majority vote of the membership.
- The amended constitution will then go before the WSU Student Senate for ratification.
- The Math Stat Club Constitution must be resubmitted for ratification to the WSU Student Senate at least every two years.
- Advisor
- The current advisor of the Math Stat Club is Tisha Hooks and Eric Errthum. His duties are as follows:
- Attend regular club meetings
- Maintain contact with club leadership
- In conjunction with the responsible party from the club, track the club budget.
- Maintain current contact information with WSU Student Senate.
- Conduct Pi Mu Epsilon Inductions
