Math/Stat Club Meeting

Not all officers were present (sadness)

Thursday, April 6th is Spruce Up Winona Day.  This starts at 1 at the Student Union.  We wanted to do this with the CS club but we couldn’t get a hold of them.  If we are able to reach them before Thursday an email will be sent out to inform everybody (even you) which block we will be “sprucing up”.

The spring picnic/retirement party for Blumberg is set for Thursday, April 20th from 4:00-7:30 at Lake Park Lodge.  Professor Blumberg has class until 4:30 so she won’t get there until about 5:00.  We have the lodge reserved until 8:00 but we probably won’t need to be out of there until 8:30.  If you need directions or a ride we can get either of them for you.  About 150 people are expected to show up so we need help picking up supplies and food and you will be contacted no matter who you are (that may or may not be a lie depending on if you signed up to help).  We plan on having volleyball, badminton, kickball, Frisbee, etc. at the picnic.

At this point in the meeting a security guard came and locked the door.

The volleyball game against the faculty will probably take place in the fall.  We’re also planning on playing Frisbee (disk) golf with the CS club in the fall sometime.

We conversed about what our gift to Professor Blumberg would be.  Suzanne suggested a painting of Gildemeister that everybody would sign.  Another idea was to get everybody together from the Math/Stats Club or Math/Stats Department for a picture.  We thought these would be a good way for her to remember us by.

Nobody had any jokes.
