What is RPSIG?

RPSIG, first of all, stands for Role Playing Special Interest Group. It is an official Winona State University club where people interested in role playing can meet and play games. Please read the rest of this FAQ for more information.

What is role-playing?

“[Role-playing games] fall into several categories and subcategories. In general, any game in which a person creates a character and pretends, through various mediums, to be that character can be classified as an RPG. RPGs are similar to acting, though there is no script.”

Who can attend RPSIG?

Anyone who wants to can attend RPSIG. In fact, many members of RPSIG are former students of WSU.
Membership dues (if paying for a year)
$10   - Nonstudents
$5     - Students/alumni (includes discount card)
Free - WSU students with ID (meetings only, doesn't include discount card)
If not wishing to pay ahead for the year, then $1 per meeting

When does RPSIG meet?

RPSIG meets on the first, third and fifth Saturdays of the month. First session meets at 12 PM, and second session meets at 6:30 PM.

Can I run <insert game here> at RPSIG?

The answer is most likely going to be yes, and you should contact the Secretary (Steve or post to the discussion forum) beforehand so that your game can be included in the next newsletter so that people know you will be running it.
