Warriors win NSIC championship
MARSHALL, Minn. — The Winona State University soccer team ended the 2000 regular season in style this past weekend, as it rolled to victories over the University of Minnesota-Crookston, Southwest State University and Wayne State College, en route to the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference championship.
WSU tops Northern in overtime
ABERDEEN, S.D. — The Winona State University football team used a four-yard Andy Nett touchdown pass to Brendon Braatz, along with an interception from Nick Jaeger, to edge Northern State University 28-21 in overtime Saturday at Swisher Field.

With the 2000 Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference championship on the line, the University of Minnesota-Duluth football team will travel to Winona on Saturday to take on Winona State University.

CROOKSTON and MOORHEAD, Minn. — The Winona State University volleyball  team split a pair of Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference matches over the weekend.

The Winona State University volleyball team captured its second-straight sweep of conference foe Oct. 24 as it beat Concordia University-St. Paul at McCown Gymnasium.

Acosta, Beavers route UM-Morris

BEMIDJI, Minn. — Eddie Acosta rushed for 242 yards and scored five touchdowns and two other teammates scored twice as Bemidji State University beat the University of Minnesota-Morris 70-0 Saturday in a Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference game.

Both the Winona State University's women's and men's basketball teams began practicing mid-October in preparation for the 2000-2001 season. The women's team open the season at home Nov. 17-18 when they will take part in the annual Jefferson's Classic. The men's team opens the season Nov. 18 at California Baptist.
